Our well established client is seeking a Solicitor to join as a Regional Director of their Child Care Department, where your expertise will shape the future of our childcare law practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the Team

• Oversee our Child Care Department, managing a team of talented legal professionals.

• Set the direction for the department with strategic plans that align with our firm’s goals.

• Be the go-to expert for our clients, providing advice, representation, and trusted support during challenging times.

Championing Client Cases

• Manage a diverse and complex caseload, including public law cases (care proceedings, emergency protection orders, adoption) and private law matters (child arrangement orders, guardianship).

• Advocate for clients in court, tribunals, and hearings with skill and confidence.

• Stay ahead of changes in childcare law to ensure we’re always delivering the best solutions for our clients.

Developing Talent

• Mentor and inspire our team of solicitors, fostering their growth and ensuring they’re equipped to deliver exceptional service.

• Lead training sessions, share knowledge, and conduct regular performance reviews to help your team shine.

• Attract and onboard new talent to build a department that thrives on collaboration and support.

Building Relationships

• Strengthen connections with clients, local authorities, social services, and other key stakeholders.

• Guide clients through sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, always prioritising their needs.

• Represent our firm at industry events, networking opportunities, and through thought leadership in childcare law.

Business Development

• Identify opportunities to grow the department and take it to the next level.

• Work closely with marketing to enhance our profile and share valuable insights through blogs, articles, and briefings.

• Collaborate across teams to achieve firm-wide goals and maintain financial performance targets.

What We’re Looking For

• Experienced Solicitor: 10+ years PQE in childcare law, with a Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation (Child Panel).

• Proven Leader: A track record of managing and mentoring legal teams.

• Expert Advocate: Strong experience in public law children cases and private law family matters, with exceptional representation skills.

• Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients and stakeholders.

• Strategic Thinker: Able to set a vision, lead the way, and contribute to the firm’s success.

• Empathetic Professional: A commitment to guiding clients through complex and emotional situations with care and expertise.
